All nighter.. or what feels like one..

So last night was a ton of fun..I was at rehearsal when Mom called me and told me her flight from Long Beach was delayed 45 min.. so I stayed for all of rehearsal. Then Jamie and Mark called and decided they wanted to come with me to pick her up. Glad they did, I get disoriented when I'm driving at night. Needed directions.. its been a while since I've been to the airport. Anyway.. We got there around 11:30 (45 min later than the original time), her flight wasn't in yet. 30 min or so later, it showed up. She wasn't very happy (of course) because her flight had been delayed an hour and a half! Another 30 min later, we found her luggage on the wrong conveyor belt, which didn't make any sense to me.. so by this time it was past 1 am. Then there was the drive home (poor Mark, he was sooooo tired!), another 45 min. So dropped off Mark and Jamie and then went home. Didn't get to sleep until about 2ish.. yay me and Mom. We had to be at the hospital (just down the road) at 9 am. Let me tell you, waking up was not an easy feat.
Needless to say, I am having a hard time staying awake and functioning today. So this morning, we got to the hospital and Mark and Jamie showed up. He filled out his paper work, they called him back about 30 or so min later. They didn't take him into surgery until 2-3 hours later. Apparently, there is a special kind of bed they need for eye surgery and they had a shortage. Hooray for waiting forever!
This is cute but sad though, Alexander (his little boy - not even 2 yet), the minute he saw that bed coming up to them, he started bawling. He knew something was up. He climbed on top of Mark after he got in the bed and cried and cried! Xander was up late as well so he probably was having a harder time than usual. I thought that was very sweet though. He was being protective of his daddy!
Anyway, after an hour of surgery, Mark is doing well I hear. Haven't seen him yet. I had to go to work after lunch. I'll see him tonight. But man! The last 12 hours have been craaazy!! I need sleep :x a lot of it!
